Coming this fall at North Seattle Community College:
Writing for Children and Young Adults
The manuscript for a board book is ten words, and a picture book maxes out at a thousand words. Young adult novels give the writer 50,000 angst-ridden words with which to work. This eight-week class will explore the craft and rules of writing and publishing good books for children and young adults.
Times: TH 7:00PM - 9:00PM 10/11/2012 - 12/06/2012 8 Sessions

From 1st Draft to Publication
It would be wonderful if stories and ideas flowed from the writer’s hands, onto the page, in perfect, publishable form. The truth is that published writing is almost always revised and edited. If you have a novel in the works, or stories that you’ve written and want to strengthen, this is the class for you. Writers will get feedback on their writing, suggestions for finalizing, and learn valuable revision strategies and techniques.

Ann Gonzalez wrote her first novel, Running for My Life, during National Novel Writing Month and is a firm believer in anything that helps writers to write without the inner critic questioning every word.
